Very hard to find matching pair of M40 pattern high lace boots modified in period.
Very good condition considering the age!
A matching pair impossible to find again!
As you can see in the last picture from the book “DEUTSHE AFRIKAKORPS 1941-1943”
the soldier liked the ankle-lenght bootsmuch more than knee-lenght boots as these were more confortable and could easily be taken off and put on.
In fact so often the knee-lenght boots were converted into ankle-lenght boots just cutting the lenghts.
One of the hardest items of uniform / equipment to find for the Afrikakorps are boots, as many continued to be worn after the war when supplies of clothing were low.
Nice for display or on a DAK Afrika Corps mannequin.
